Personalize your wedding with flowers

Floral design and décor services for special occasions

As a lifelong resident of Kentucky I have always had a love and appreciation for the changing of the seasons. My earliest memories involve observations of the colors, expressions of life, and constant changes our temperate climate exhibits. This deep love of nature has always focused my attention on the beauty of flowers and a love of gardening. Having also been drawn to creative expression through art and design, I naturally gravitated toward the use of flowers and plants as a medium. Having studied horticulture in high school, I continued those studies in college, spending my first year at University of Kentucky and the following four years at Morehead State University. Originally I had planned on pursuing a career in landscape and garden design as well as greenhouse culture, however another opportunity presented itself. During this time I began my work in professional floral design, learning from seasoned designers and benefiting from on the job training. For the next 20+ years I worked in the floral trade in the Morehead area. Upon returning to the Bluegrass Region I focused my craft on wedding and event design that has always been most rewarding. The unique opportunity to use flowers in creating the perfect setting for a bride’s most special day is a gift and an honor. My style of design continues to evolve over time, and having such an appreciation for various styles makes it difficult to pinpoint one I would consider my own. In considering this, close attention to the cycles of nature, the process of growth and development in the plant world, and deep understanding of these processes, are expressed in my designs. The garden and the natural world are a continuing source of inspiration in my ever evolving design aesthetic.

While a successful event is the culmination of many talents and skilled professionals, I often hear from brides and mothers that “flowers make a wedding”. We often hear the phrase about food that “you eat with your eyes first”, and I think this idea applies to weddings and events as well. When guests enter a venue adorned with artful floral decor, they immediately feel they have been honored to participate in something special.
